The dude was basically just a little bit above Olympic athlete.
No single ability of his was superhuman, but he had a wide range of peak-of-humanity physical
skills. Climbing up onto a building to place a brick of plastic explosives would have been an
entertaining evening stroll for him.
It also made sure the statue was unrecoverable. He was making a symbolic gesture, and wanted no
similar symbolism available for them to use.
