Or you could just, you know, use a PC.You can play games in 4K resolution 120 fps with better
texture quality and you don't ever need to worry about backwards compatibility, or a lack of
games to play.
Hell you can even emulate consoles all the way up to the Wii.
This next spring the newest video cards from Nvidia are going to be about 5 times as powerful as
an xbox one and only cost about $250.

They had the same issues in the 90s as well, it just wasn't as full blown as it is now.

the GTX 860 will come out for about the same price as the 760 ($250) and has been rumored to have
the computational power of over 5 Tflops.
The 700 and 800 series both support 4K resolution and with the 5 Tflops of power that the 860 is
rumored to have, hitting 120fps at 4k on most modern games should be no problem.
And with the 880 rumored to have around 9Tflops of power for $650 a real graphics enthusiast
should have no problem maxing out games at 4k and hitting even 200fps

this is a double edged sword...
low adoption rates for the consoles mean less is developed for it (Vita) which gives it even less
adoption. so although you "shouldnt" buy at launch, you should consider it if you want the
console to have a future.

Wrong. Consoles are immensely overpriced at launch, so all not buying one when they first come
out will do is force the price to drop to it's PROPER amount sooner.

Pure truth, only downside to pcs is they're more expensive. The upsides include pcs doing fucking
everything besides playing games just as well. I suppose the fact that many games still never
make it to pc still counts as a downside. Why can't I have a wii-u controller for my PC and play
the new smash bros on it when it comes out? Only because Nintendo (and the rest of them) don't
want PCs to oust their consoles.

I'm amazed he didn't just tell him to get a PC...
