Yeah here I am zipping my way up to 200 in a matter of second and all of a sudden I get zapped

The secret is to move fast up until about 200 meters. It is actually easier to dodge the spikes
earlier on that way.

I have actually been able to reach 412 by just moving as fast as possibly, I ended up getting an
itchy finger and slipped up. But I think the game was designed to automatically dodge all
obsticles as long as you moved as fast as the game could allow.

In reality it's much safer to just go slower, by going quickly you up your chance of hitting one
of the panels and getting thrown back to the beginning.
I find it much simpler to just use long presses with caution as to avoid going into boost.
Once you're higher up and the beam moves faster it becomes a combination of luck, timing and
focus.
