It looks like skeletal animation with detached bones actually. I'll bet there's vertex groups and
stuff. That would make it easier than actual mesh deformation, even though it sort of looks like
mesh deformation. The guy uses Blender, so I would assume there are just some diferent bones
without actual heirarchy, which makes for a cool look if you ask me. It adds to the trippy/lulzy
feel and brings me to a childlike place in my mind.
