Tom the Parasite owns the world, first try. Try selling off your beginning symptoms, and buying
Waterborne early on.. Once you spread a lot, increase infectivity with airborne, etc.. Then, add
symptoms.

My virus is perfect.
It has max cold, heat, moisture and drug resistance, and it can be spread by Rodents, Insects,
Waterborne, and Airborne! It CANNOT be DESTROYED!
...But it only makes you cough.
Killing the world, one cough at a time, I guess!

Sorry, but that strategy GUARANTEES failure.

Everyone claims they have the perfect strategy to win this game in under 100 days. I don't claim
to have the answer, but I can give some general tips and guidelines. It's recommended you begin
as a Virus. You just get results quicker, that's all. Not saying you can't do it with a Parasite.
Everybody loves to claim that you should try to start in Madagascar. Don't. That is worse than
even starting on a major mainland region, such as China or the USA. IF you should choose to pick
Madagascar anyway, cross your fingers and pray that you even get off that damned motherfucking
island. The THREE BEST regions to start in (in order) are: Greenland, Indonesia, Cuba. New
Zealand is a runner-up.

As for disease symptoms, you must first understand that Visibility doesn't quite affect how fast
your disease is discovered, just how much people can avoid it and thus nullifying infectivity. On
a whim, I tried doing everything wrong as possible, according to people's testimonies and
strategies. Snatched up all the "junk" traits with high visibility, and got nearly every country
red in ~<30 days. You genereally want Infection>Lethality>Visibility, with a ratio of at least
4:2:1. Pulmonary Edema is a great symptom to get. Every disease class has it, you can combine it
with 1-3 other symptoms with incredible results (i.e. coughing, hemmoraging). If you get too many
junk traits with a large sell value, I would advise starting over. They take a lot out of your
pool of potential. Advance one tier at a time, trust me. Don't "prep" by advancing without
symptoms. It costs a lot, quite possibly has some effect, and you can do it later.

I'll attribute one thing to the guides, they are right about resistances. In the beginning, buy
about 3 of any combination except drug. It attracts attention, we save that for later. Not only
does it help with survival, it fights vaccination, and it seems to impact immune-system-attacki
ng-symptoms. TBH, I dunno what the transmissions are for. if you start off with them in the game
(by purchase or trait) you're doomed to get only a handful of red and an early alert, if you get
them when your virus is known, it's almost immediately counteracted. Back to symptoms really
quick: you basically have two, maybe three paths to go down if you choose virus. One is obviously
organ failure, the other is Water-based (Edema, Diarrhea, Encephalitis, etc), and overall
hemorrhaging, I guess. Junk traits: Sweating, Nausea, Dementia, Ataxia, Depression, Blindness,
Hypotonia. Key to this game is patience and luck. Madagascar takes a long time to get at. Don't
expect to get the first dozen times.
