The NGE song is from End of Evangelion, the lyrics are Anno's himself's: the usual
down-the-river-not-across-the-street stuff.
BUT the name Komm Süsser Tod (Come Sweet Death) comes from a semi-famous choral written by Bach.
Translated it goes like this:
" Come, sweet death, come blessed rest!
Come lead me to peace
For I am weary of the world,
Oh come! I wait for you,
Come soon and lead me,
Close my eyes.
Come, blessed rest!"
So yeah. It's a great song, too.
