This is clearly an anti-capitalism message. Via money (and something the hat symbolizes, not sure
what, fame?) he rises to the top, then using money subdues many others into becoming, quite
literally, "capitalist pigs" who follow his devilish upper-class schemes to their own demise. It
ends in a pig roast, implying that perhaps the devil figure aka the upper class was sacrificing
the lower peon capitalist pigs for their own enjoyment and benefit.

The lemming-like behavior of the capitalist pigs, hesitating for a moment and then following the
devil down into the pits, is some kind of comment against everyone involved in the system, that
the lower class is brainwashed into doing what the upper class tells them in exchange for
promised riches (perhaps the devil had related tales of how in his adventure off the cliff he
obtained great wealth and power). However their falling from the cliff did not give them what it
did the rich man (a minority) but instead had them killed, saying that only a tiny minority
benefit from capitalism and are on-top and the rest die trying to succeed.
This is total speculation for the record, feel free to fill it with your own pseudo intellectual
analysis.
