Don't feel like it.
What do you think about the Facebook's Oculus deal?

Does this circle in quadraphonic or just back in forth in regular stereo? (just have headphones)

I think it was a smart move.

Pan being -1 (left) to +1 (right), it just goes from 0 to -1 to 1 to -1 and so on. It's not
precomputed, but done on the fly.
It could be possible to do quadraphonic (maybe?), but I don't know *how* the channels would
change and what values to feed.

I think the 2 billion could result in something great. I'm sad it's Facebook cancering over
everything; had it been Google or Valve, I'd be happier, but I doubt FB will actually do anything
negative to Oculus.

But I'm... surprised. i expected someone with a manufacturing base to pick up OR. Microsoft,
Apple, Samsung, Sony... one of them. Maybe Valve.
Facebook picking them up, with their most recent acquisitions in the last year thrown on top,
tells me their trying to compete directly with google at some point. Possible a phone OS, or a
sort of "app portal" that acts as your messaging, facebook, web search, etc all in one. Possibly
with a google glass or facebook... face... interface. Interfacebook.
You can google "facebook acquisitions" and there's a wikipedia page of all of them. Still, the
articles I read gave me the impression that they intend to leave the OR team largely intact, so
maybe they just saw something they thought would be profitable and wanted in on that.

I certainly think it was more of an investment decision than it was about acquiring the actual
tech. Facebook stands to make a LOT of money off of this if Oculus turns profitable. With the
amount of dev kits sold and the cost effectiveness of their design, coupled with the demand for
affordable VR, Oculus is one of the most promising manufacturing endeavors they could ever
acquire.
