Make this 4 years back, what do you think?
Arrows to move.
>> [_] Anonymous 06/02/14(Mon)19:44 No.2403867
Pretty cool, would make for neat effects in a game using a low res graphical style.

Thought about it, never took the time to implement it.

Doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm supposed to see? I see a black screen that get's some gray
and blue for a split second and then freezes

Same. I get a brown curve with a blue blob, and some kind of grey shit spreads, fills half the
screen and freezes in less than three seconds. Tried shift+F5.

Made ir work on Facebook.
This reminds me of those great Fallind Sand flash games where you would make sandboxes with
various elements, and had some cool moving things that did shenaningans. Google Powder Toy, it's
a remake of those ancient flash games, might interest you.

Didn't realise you could do that. I like it, the low res could make it really work as the physics
system of retro games.

Can't reproduce the error, can't fix it...
>> [_] Anonymous 06/02/14(Mon)20:35 No.2403919
what's the leftmost element supposed to be? It's a neat refraction effect, so it looks like heat
or something...
Also, what does the background represent?
>> [_] PhysicsAutomaton 06/02/14(Mon)20:37 No.2403920
>>2403919
The background is just a test to fill the background with the cellular automaton, I planed to
make more kinds of background physics.
The leftmost thing is gas, make a big wood ball, use it inside, then burn the wood, just to test
it.
>> [_] Anonymous 06/02/14(Mon)20:40 No.2403922
>>2403920
yea, I just realized. The effect is quite neat. I haven't seen a "falling sand" style game quite
like this, and I've played a lot (and have toyed with per-pixel cellular automata in flash years
ago, too). Can you make the resolution higher, and host it somewhere?
>> [_] PhysicsAutomaton 06/02/14(Mon)20:42 No.2403926
>>2403922
I played with the resolution a lot, the problem is that it gets slower, and I wanted it to be
perfect. Also, there is a lot of optimization that can be done, right now, it's going through all
the pixels on view.
And as it is, it isn't quite a game per say, it's just a simulation.
>> [_] Anonymous 06/02/14(Mon)20:47 No.2403929
>>2403926
I was referring to games like "Powder" and "Dust" (at dan-ball.jp), and the old falling sand
game, which are simulations using per-pixel cellular automata. Is the resolution fixed at compile
time?
>> [_] PhysicsAutomaton 06/02/14(Mon)20:51 No.2403932
>>2403929
I initialize a bitmap data with the resolution of the screen times a fraction, which basically
scales it. If I wan to change it on runtime, I would have to reinitialize the bitmapdata.

There's a lot of astoudning sandbox games I remember playing in my early childhood, but never

whenever I actually try to mess with anything.
