Funny, I had never dealt with Arch Linux before, but a few weeks ago, I was playing with a
Raspberry Pi, and it was really the best choice. I have installed it on a desktop and a laptop
since then, and it is a good choice.
It is really Linux-y, though. Where distros like Ubuntu try to be as easy as Windows to install
and operate, Arch Linux really requires some understanding of basic Linux. Not for the
weak-hearted.

glad Arch decided to do away with supporting any kind of installer vs DIY. For fuck's sake, the
wiki gives you step by step instructions. If you can't follow that... well good luck with your
career at walmart.

Arch linux was one of my first "main" operating systems, and I have never had a problem
installing it. (main meaning everyday use)

No, only stating that if you have tried and failed to install Arch, you work at Walmart.

That ringbuffer looks like it's for a very old kernel though. Not very Arch-like.

/g/ here. Arch is for literal autists. Gentoo is far more stable, far more secure, and does not
have systemd, making it a far more superior choice. Once you get past the installation, it really
is great. You do of course have to learn how to manage USE flags, and get used to emerge rather
than apt-get or pacman, but you get better overall performance.
