Eventually you'll have it long enough and super-wide enough that it covers most of the screen
each swing.
Also when it's wide you can easily hit things a bunch while not standing right in front of it.

i got up to like 16000 on my sword, 2k in each stat, killing avatar in about 2 minutes or less

Protip: use your water sword to grind the efreet, buy a zweihander and get it to a very high
level, use it to clear the next 4 maps. Also you get a ton of red gems so you can become
basically immune to fire damage.

pointless to worry about, wind and earth doesn't really matter
you want water for the fire bosses, fire for the waterbosses, light for the necro and death, dark
for avatar, magic for things you can't kill without magic
don't even think about fighting the boss without a 2-3k sword

Basically you need to find and beat 3 areas per zone to face the boss. Then that unlocks another
part of the world you can travel to by walking to the edge of the screen (once you unlock the 1st
one it takes you to the world map)

For anyone having trouble with the world tree: There's an area called Secret Heaven just below
and to the right of it, where you can hire a Nin Nin for 2222 gold. It's a tanky as fuck cat that
heals you a lot and if you have appropriate weapons and armor it turns the world tree into a
cakewalk.
