Well, the word is normal but you don't really hear it a lot; it's also a bit childish, weird.
The first part's "puff" is how "pomf" would generally be translated.
Or you could mean "how the fuck does pomf become tumpsahdus", and that I can explain with "tumps"
is an onomatopoeia for "bump"(?).
In Finnish we have a shitton of add-ons or whatchamacallem with which "tumps" can be transformed
into "tumpsahdus", meaning something like "the sound of a tumps".

I got no finns in me, but I think tumpsahdus sounds about the sound my bed make if I fall
backward into it. I do know it makes no puff sound or the dumb pompf sound
