Miss plot armor destroyed any good that the well developed, likeable characters could do in that

Hey, I'm also from /a/ and I fucking loved Black Lagoon. Was it a good show? Not really, but I
enjoyed it, so who cares?
Though I will say I understand their frustration. Casual anime-watchers don't care as much about
things like cliches, because they only see them once or twice. When you watch every show that
comes out every season, you grow tired of cliches incredibly fast.

Agreed, and it goes for regular TV shows, western cartoons, movies etc.
If you're watching so fucking many of them that you're reduced to comments such as "ugh, X
character's reaction to Y was so cliche'd" or ANYTHING remotely similar, switch mediums. Go
outside. Take up a hobby.
Once you start judging and generalising multiple subjects of a medium, it's time to take a damn
break.
Enjoy it for what it is, not for what everything else was.

To be fair, almost every form of media has cliches fucking everywhere. And honestly, once you're
familiar with the idea of a cliche, it's REALLY easy to pick them out very quickly in any given
media. Even some things you see for the first time just scream "I'm so cliche is actually hurts
to exist."

i am a casual anime watche and the cliches that I see more than anything that was put in BL are
the cute highschool girls that usually consist of the perky one, the mature motherly one, the one
who never talks and whose eyes are always half drawn and the one with a flat chest who wants
bigger boobs.
did i mention that the high school teaches kids to be COOL MAGIC WIELDING WARRIORS or TANK
