I'm always disappointed when I see this show because Maddox's writing makes him come off as a
burly Russian/Texan/Slav but in reality he's a scrawny Middle Eastern guy. That being said, his

new york is great for tourists because there are some cool places to visit.
but it's true, it's an otherwise shitty place to live. like every other unremarkable US city
except an order of magnitude larger.
the odd thing is, it's popular to talk about how rude the folks are, but the people in NY have
been uniquely friendly for Northerners in my experience, with the exception of some of the
minorities (jews, arabs, asians, slavs) which can be cliquish and unfriendly

I work in NYC and I fucking hate it. The majority of my time is spent trying to leave.
The state as a whole isn't terrible, but the city is fucking awful. I have no clue why someone
would even consider living there. Some family friends of mine bought a condo in midtown for a
million bucks, and all you hear all day long at their place is sirens and traffic. Fucking waste.
