Many US WWII vets spent so much time eating Spam, they swore they'd never touch the stuff again
only to find themselves eating it off in the civilian world. The war was Spam's best advertising.
Y'know...reflecting on that, although I hated the vegetarian omelet while I was in the Marine
Corps, I'd probably still eat one again given the chance here in the civilian world. Strange how
that works out, eh? I guess it's the same logic. But, meh; at least the load the vegetarian
omelet MRE's with a lot of candy to make up for how shitty it is. Usually they'd have Skittles
and M&M's and shit in there too.

iirc the treason they had extra candy in the veggie meals was to offset the lost calories of not
having meat candy like meat is calorie dense.

Yeah, and that's the technical reason we're told, but the vegetarian omelet...let's just say it's
famous for being hated. The MRE's are pretty calorie dense, I could usually have one MRE last me
a couple of days just grazing on it off and on all day. It doesn't look like much, but it is. I
don't remember how many calories they were, but it was some ungodly number. Oh yeah, and it made
your turds big and rock hard too. When I got out of boot camp, I went to a McDonald's and took a
shit there. Big hard turd that got lodged sideways in the toilet and wouldn't flush. I felt bad
for having left it there for someone else to take care of...I was embarrassed about that.
