Iunno about ya'll, but as a citizen of Israel who was at constant bomb threats, NONE of our
sirens sound like that shit.
Not at the Gaza Strip where I rent(Or in that general southern area), nor in the center where my
folks live.
Any explanation on why that siren sounds like that/where you might hear one of that sort?

It's the same sirens that would have warned of an air raid during the cold war.
Every time they test them on Friday, for the brief moment when they spin up I just think WWIII

The siren featured in this flash is a pneumatic/mechanical siren, used in WWII air-raid signals
throughout Europe and CD sirens in the USA (now mostly used for severe weather emergencies). Also
the kind you hear in Silent Hill. Many variations, including rotational and omni-directional.
From what I've seen/heard, Israel uses electronic sirens, which are just fuckhuge loudspeakers.
I kind of have a weird obsession with Cold War/Civil Defense tech...
