Dragon Kill Points - Basically if you show up to a raid you get a few, if you kill a boss you get
a few more. You spend DKP to get gear that the bosses drop.
How much depends on the particular scheme. I once ran with a guild that worked it this way. You
show up on time for the event you get 5 DKP, a night of attempts on a boss got you 5 DKP, you
help kill a boss you get 10 DKP, you want to put in a bid for an item it was 20 DKP for a class
specific item or 30 for an item that could be used by multiple classes. If multiple people put in
a bid for an item, whoever had the most DKP at the time of the bid got the item.
Essentially DKP is a way to insure loot is spread fairly among those who put in the most effort.
