Lol, societal standards change so therefore all art we practice is wrong. We also live in an
economy where anyone can be an artist due to economic empowerment. The achievements all the other
poor people could have done pretty much would have matched or surpassed the masters.
Want to know why the United States and China wear shitloads of medals? Because they have access
to the largest pools of people. Art works the same way, anything talent based does.

Also, having worked in comic art (it's a shitty field, I know), the amount of self important

There are pseudo standards to beauty, so long as you don't get to specific. Study sociology, mix
in a little world history, common themes appear, common hopes, common temptations and common
awe-inspiring natural phenomena.
Our individual experiences in life usually change us for better or worse to be slightly different
than the next one, but it's important to still be able to recognize why a majority would find
something appealing, if not for any other reason than to better understand yourself.

To me, art is defined by one simple thing.
When I look at it, I want to keep looking. It has to attract my eyes. I want to wander around
inside the picture. A good piece of art is something I wish I could enter and live inside.
