the kids name was dillon taylor unarmed except for the headphones in his ears, his phone in his
pocket and his pale white skin. (thats right hes actually white, google his name.)
but it was not enough to stop this cop from seeing just how black dillon was on the inside.
and so the rules of de-escalating a situation with a white person just wasnt worth it. the poor
boy was already too far gone and officer cruz could see it plain as day. so instead of keeping
his gun at "the ready" and trying to keep his suspect calm before he even has a chance to speak
to him. he went for the common black man rule of de-escalating. draw weapon first, then give
command aggressively and try to scare the shit out of him. wait for him to make any sudden or
threatening movements and fire.
