I'm going to ruin the baww and 'feels' in this thread by pointing out that cats don't express
grief or love or even 'acceptance' the way we humans do. The act of kneading or patting something
like this cat is doing is actually a way of claiming ownership or contentedness, and is primarily
done to 'claim' something, be it a warm blanket, a couch, or a human. Consequently, in the wild
(and sometimes in your home if you don't neuter your cat) this is also done before mating. You'll
note that near the end of the video you can see the cat on top begin to mount the other cat's
corpse and attempt to hump tentatively.
It's not mourning... it's just horny.
