Not him, but I think that the American "good guy, bad guy" mentality is troubling. Introducing
more guns to the system in order to combat problems with gun use seems like a "fight fire with
fire" solution of the worst possible sort, as if there is no overlap between those two arbitrary
groups of people and as if easier access to guns doesn't lead to increased misuse in addition to
"intended" gun use.

You say that as if you can completely disarm the population. Criminals will always be able to get
their hands on illegal shit. That's why they're criminals, bruh. No matter how strict the laws,
if someone wants to kill someone, they're going to do it. Look at the Charlie Hebdo shit just a
while back. If one person had been on the scene who was armed and knew what they were doing, most
of the casualties could have been avoided.

Good and bad are not arbitrary, but if crime somehow isn't bad, then how about phrasing the
argument like this: the only thing that stops a criminal with a gun is a law abiding
citizen/cop/soldier with a gun. If everyone knows that everyone else is armed, then anyone is
much less likely to cross everyone else and all of their friends. That's why America has one of
the lowest home invasion rates among western countries. Also, a large portion of firearm related
homicides come from gang-related violence, which without guns would just come from beating people
with hammers or something.
