I have the worst diarrhea of my life today. While i was sitting on the toilet I started to come
to the conclusion that my consciousness and sense of self is just an illusion and the result of
billions of years of evolution. And that I and everyone I know are just automatons/machines
designed by this process of evolution. None of use are alive... we are advanced mechanical
devices. And I realized that evolution itself has no will or goal but is simply the natural
result of the laws of physics and limitations of time and space. The human concepts of morality
or will or goals are simply the result of natural selection (humans with some morality survived
to reproduce) and do not have any ultimate truth to them. A human life has no value or
specialness and does not have a soul, a consciousness, or an ultimate destiny.

My attitude is that morality or a sense of purpose or one's own "soul" are not worth being
psychologically attached to, though we may be forced to act morally or act as if we have a
purpose in order to avoid pain or discomfort. Avoidance of pain or discomfort is too difficult to
manually override imho.

1. I think consciousness or sense of self was NOT an evolutionary mistake because for most people
it is beneficial for survival and reproduction (it generally creates more will to survive and
succeed).
2. I don't see a clear reason we should stop (or increase or decrease) reproduction.

typically do with their lives? What are you doing with your life?
Personally I could see myself doing something normal because it is pretty hard to bypass most
biological programming.

I'm sure you could deny yourself your pointless existence if that's how you truly feel that your
existence hold no other purpose then simply existing it probably then would hold no further
bearing on others for very long.
Or you could do what most people who believe in only existence with no point do, and be a real
dick about it.
Or you can go about your business letting your "programming" work they way it does.
Only the option that ends in your disregard for self preservation that doesn't help humanity
actually shows a semblance of free choice and purpose if the goal is to learn whether or not your
life is meaningful. But being dead kind of would defeat the purpose in that situation.
