[_] Why does Japan have shit websites? Anonymous 03/28/15(Sat)08:26 No.2731463
Everything looks like it belongs in 2005.

The internet was better in 2005. Simple and organized. All that flashy web 2.0, entirely flash
made websites, and web 3.0 mobile enable shit can fuck off.

Remember when websites had "intros"? Dear fucking God.

that's before 2005 though
agreed though, the internet was best around 10 years ago. this mobile-focused design where you
have 50px fonts and need to scroll 5 miles just to get to the next paragraph is a fucking cancer
4chan is one of the last major websites that still looks and feels good on a desktop

I mostly use it, because it is readable on my phone from 2007 (nokia 5730). Unlike reddit, for
example. But that shit get me lost even on desktop.

>muh reddit
I don't like reddit, I never browsed reddit for more than 5 minutes, but I'm sick and tired of
people pretending like half of 4chan's modern userbase didn't come here straight from that
website.
it's just a website. a popular content aggravator. basically an updated version of Fark.

OP, do you speak Japanese?
Not all their websites look shit.

Geocities culture was bigger there.
Or they hate css for some reason.

No.
I would have used the government website as an example, but they updated, it's not that bad
anymore. A lot of them are really ancient-looking to me though. Not all of them, the Uniqlo
website has always been good.
Some others though:
http://www.police.pref.hokkaido.lg.jp/
http://www.narita-airport.jp/jp/index.html
http://www.fujitv.co.jp/index.html
http://www.npb.or.jp/
Not all, but the design choices are just so different. Of course, there's the Korean web where
they just shove everything in your face in one go.
