/f/ always makes me realize that most people have really fucking boring music tastes.
Not that there's anything really terrible about this song, I don't even dislike it that much.
It's just - like most EDM and other electronic posted here - so fucking boring.
Also, most video game music really isn't that interesting either. Bunch of it is, but not
anywhere near the amount actually posted.
Like, there's so much really really good electronical music, and it's always the same really
boring house and EDM shit posted.
Like, even though I know none of the artists, I've heard their song before. Uninspired shit, or
rather, too inspired.
Can't really comment on the weebshit, I honestly haven't heard enough jap music to feel like I'm
making an honest judgment of it. But like 90% of the AMV's posted are just boring pop-rock or
pop-EDM.
Those ambient loops by that guy - his name escapes me - are pretty good though.

I think when you mention EDM you mean big room which is nothing else but first minute build up
then comes the drop and rest of the song is just a generic bullshit
I unsubscribed from Proximity, Nik Cooper and Funky Panda every song sounded the same
about game osts I've recently played ori and the blind forest which came out this year and after
I've played it through I immediately downloaded the ost
fucking brilliant piece of music right there
the name of that guy is Master Otenko and he used songs by Hammock and Boards of Canada

Huh, I know Boards of Canada are sort of a meme band (their logo is a 4chan banner), but I've
actually never listened through an entire album by them. Might do it next time I get the
inclination.
It's no surprise that there are talented musicians making music for games, who make great music.
My point is mostly that there's this fetishization of video game music, especially those 80's and
early 90's chiptunes from japanese game companies.

I wouldn't say BoC is bad, but it's hype definitely outlived it's quality.

It's mostly targeted at deep synth fans (like myself). Has nothing to do with popular music or
EDM. Most people still listen to it for the nostalgia and nothing more.
The best, soft, juicy synth riff of all time:

I wasn't really comparing it to popular music, was just saying that Master Otenko had better
music tastes than the average /f/ OP.

Oh I totally agree with you. /f/'s average taste is dull chinese cartoon electronic music with
shitty cliche vocals.

all the AMVs are bullshit in general so there's no need for a discussion about it

Most of the flash loops posted, many of the flashes that use music as a piece of filler, the
flashes that remix shit over music.
Just really in general, the music used is either: Universally agreed upon as pretty ok, japstuff
that I don't really have any opinion on, and really cookie-cutter House/EDM or video-game music,
good or bad.

The point is: I often find myself surprised when people ask for source on the music here on /f/.
Not because the music is bad per se, but in my head I always go: "you haven't heard this song a
100 times before?" (Not because they've actually heard it, but because it lacks originality)

That's a whole different discussion, people will ask for source for anything regardless of
quality even if the source is right in front of them. I don't know why.

that's an unwritten rule of /f/
if there is anything saucable, some /f/aggot will always demand sauce
and many times it's not because they forget but because there are hundreds of newfags everyday
