people really get off on it. Yeah, I don't get it either.
The taboo nature is probably part of it. Most children find scatological jokes, including
farting, funny. So maybe for some that translates to sexual attraction later in life.
And it's possible that there's no underlying reason behind a fetish and people just be weird.

This game is just part of a minigame series I think.
For a lot of Japanese, sweet potatoes cause gas. The video cuts out the girls eating potatoes,
which causes them to have such extreme gas that they launch themselves into space.

Probably a result of their extremely oppressive culture. When people bump into each other on the
streets they feel obliged to stop, face each other and formally apologize. Their society is
heavily hierarchized, but everyone gets constant pressure, even those on top.
This is why their porn is the sickest, their fetishes are the weirdest (probably a big taboo to
fart in public, maybe on the same level as a public masturbator in western cultures).
Also, many japs kill themselves when they can't live up to the ginormous expectations their
families put on them, or because of the sheer pressure.
