I'm not convinced that it's as bad as this shows. There's always been consumerist trash around,
and there a plenty of good things coming.
IPv6 is slowly starting to appear, X11 finally has a viable replacement (Wayland) on the horizon,
Linux has been getting significantly more mainstream attention than it has in a long time, and
the languages that are being created do interesting things and provide powerful tools, in
contrast to the business-focused straitjacket languages that have been popular.
