Ok I see what you mean now. Yeah the ominous atmosphere in 1 was kind of what made the game
interesting and then 2 comes along, makes a bunch of jokes, takes the mysteriousness of the first
one away and you aren't on your edge to see what happens anymore as you explore or progress
through the facility as everything is kind of spelled out for you.

As shit as 2 is it did still have some intriguing moments. Cut away the humor and the darkness of
the original is still there. Just look at the concept art.
That looks like it happens for most valve games, half live 2 was going to be fucking grim but
they really cleaned it up.
I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same for p2.
I mean, there was going to be a scene where you kill Johnson. He'd been sitting in a room, alone,
in a box for however many years. Probably 30 if p2 happened 10 years after 1, but it could have
been far longer than that.
Just him sitting there, going insane.
And right at the point when GLaDOS was at her emotionally weakest she has to deal with that. The
dialog was, if I remember properly, fucking grim. She was just telling chell not to listen,
blocking it out, trying to avoid thinking about it.

I remember apply.exe being totaly retarded. Here it says "undefined" so who knows if it works.
