Yeah, pretty much this.
Im pretty sure no one but fox news claimed that the beams were melted anyway, but sufficient
heating is all thats required to compromise load bearing.
Add into that that the twin towers had serious architectural problems with the fireproofing that
protects the load bearing beams (among other things the cables of elevators kept swaying and
scraping the stuff off) - and a fire could really fuck it up.
