Rats are more scavengy than squirrels tend to be, but diet is dictated by location. As mentioned
above, in the wild squirrels usually eat nuts, berries, and the like with the occasional insect
or small vertibrates like lizards same as most wild rodents like beaver, rabbits, nutria, etc.
Well, ok rabbits aren't rodents, they're lagomorphs, who's primary defining characteristic seems
to be "they're not rodents".
