  2. Speech is not uniquely human, just as tool use isn't. We know dolphins and some whales, at
  very least, communicate by sound to the point of having personal names. Also, gorillas that have
  been taught sign language have taught it to other gorillas (language transmission) and been
  observed having conversations when no human was present.
