My mom is dying of cancer. She got Ovarian cancer awhile back...after surgery and extensive
chemo, it went into remission, but since it's attacking again, it looks like there's not much we
can do. I remember, she used to hold me when I was little, and when I was afraid. A lot of things
scared me back then. I'd sit on the couch in her lap, and play Yoshi's Island. Everything seemed
okay, just me and her, in the dark, bathed in the TV light. Now, I have to be strong, and be
there for her. I have to hold her, and return to her the love she invested in me to help me grow
into a happy, successful man.
This has been a real struggle. Seeing this flash somehow made everything feel okay all of a
sudden. Thank you, OP.
