What would have happened if Orpheus would have been a mute. With a gun.
I liked it. Though the ending confused me.

the ending sure was strange
At first I thought I was dead too, but then who is the one near the tombstone?

Needed one boss with the ghost following you.
I bet a boss fight where you can't look back would be challenging as hell.

It's difficult to tell people apart at this resolution. I'm not sure it's the same dude.
Otherwise, if it was the same dude, maybe the whole adventure was an "if only" daydream. Or maybe
the protagonist is in denial about the loss of his lover, delusional, hallucinating. And when his
imaginary alter ego makes it back to the grave, he finally snaps out of it, upon which his
fantasy vanishes into air.

The game is based on what I think was a greek myth. A man lost his love, and so travelled into
'hell' to save her. He managed to convince the head of the underworld to let her go, but only if
he could return to the surface without looking back. He assured him on his word, that she would
follow him, silently.
In the end, he turned around before he could reach the surface, and she was drawn back into the
underworld. This game is an obvious play on that, I mean, with a gun, that you can shoot a demon
in the face with. And lightning and stuff. But it seems to me that when you return to the
surface, thats when you're supposed to realise it was a lamenting daydream. A regret, an "I wish
it happened this way".

I got the reference but your "lamenting dream" isn't the only explanation. It's still open for
interpretation.
Mine: the character commits suicide through your actions, at the very beginning, when you jump
off the first cliff. Both you and the hero of the game don't realize that and carry on to bring
back the hero's beloved. When you return with her ghost to the graveyard, the hero notices his
friend standing before his grave. They're both drawn back to their new home, the underworld.
It's what you make of it. It's art.

Once you realise this is a tribute to a Greek myth, I think you'll come to look at the choice of
colours differently too. Brownish red, white and black.
They're the colours you find in decorations on ancient Greek pottery.

The first boss is Cerberus. The river Styx is in there too; it's where you find the first
disappearing platforms.

Wait, I thought that was a Japanese myth. Izanagi and Izanami, or something like that. Something
about killing 1000 people a day, and giving birth to 1500?
