The major problem with the Zeitgeist Movement is that somewhere at the end of the line, people
need to be paid for the consumer product they produce from parts that are 5 suppliers removed
from the raw natural resources. To do this, we are left with either bartering, which is highly
inefficient, or creating a standardized symbolic monetary system either linked to some stable
resource like gold or some other system like what is in use today. In fact, the system in effect
today is more closely tied to resources than the gold standard was.

The other major gap is that for a system that is supposed to be so based on science and
engineering, it is completely void of specification. Saying things like "we'll need environmental
sensors in all relevant areas on the planet" fails to define what needs to be measured and fails
to define "relevant". If left open to interpretation on purpose, the logical outcome is that an
unimaginable amount of resources will need to be spent to measure everything everywhere in
real-time. This is in direct conflict with the entire philosophy in general.
