Depends on your habits.
As long as your RAM is within safe limits or you have a page file...
If I'm rendering something I'll just lower the priority while I browse or play games with no
performance detriment beyond an hour or so longer wait time but with entertainment in the mean
time.

Windows downloads updates in background and automatically installs them when you shut down your
PC. It doesn't even ask for restart unless you have your computer on for several days. Then it
prompts for restart for a day or so, And only then it says "fuck you, I'm restarting your stupid
computer". And even then you can cancel it via command line.
