anyone else notice how /f/ kinda lost a lot of its "institutional memory" (for the lack of a
better term)? a lot of great stuff that used to be posted like once a month just kinda
disappeared and haven't been seen in years... all we get now are reposts of really shitty 2013+
flashes or the endless barrage of lazily converted vids.
I understand the obvious and most banal answer is to blame newfags, but hasn't the dynamic always
been:
1. newfag comes to board
2. newfag sees good (but ancient) flashes
3. newfag saves flashes
4. newfag reposts flashes
5. another newfag comes to board
60 GOTO 10
????
8. /f/ is gets the "reposts of reposts of reposts of" reputation
But this doesn't seem to happen anymore. What happened? Where was the chain broken? How many of
you actually have a decent sized collection on your HDDs?

To be frank, I only have 102 flashes.

The stuff that got posted once a month got overrun by the stuff that got posted once a week, and
that got overrun by the stuff that got posted once a day.

803 flashes
3.68 GB

2466 Flashes
11.3 GB
I still consider myself pretty new, since I can still come here, find reposts, and have not seen
them before.
Though I guess that will probably always be the case with the pace that new flashes are created.

eh what it comes down to for me is that i don't get touhou, and it's a big part of /f/ culture
