however, it fails, because there's not enough texture detail to complete the illusion. it also
probably shouldn't be bouncing up and down like that while the angle is barely changing, unless
she has a fairly large, flabby belly - which I've seen quite a few times, and it does look a lot
like this flash. but she doesn't have a belly.

Why IK for something like this?
You'd use that sort of thing for extremities (hands, arms, feet, fingers etc)
Just seems more like they've exaggerated the spine base/pelvis/tail bone poses a little too much
during animation.
Also the skinning of the mesh to the bones prior to rigging - they've probably skinned it
incorrectly where the mesh is being deformed too much.
