Dear sister,
What some people don't realize is that the short was a parody, of sorts, of the season finale 2
of The O.C.

Does anyone know if it's just a pre-recorded sequence or is there a filter pixellising the
gif/animated image on the fly? (the latter'd be way more impressive, ofc)

What does that have to do with anything? Besides, I'm pretty sure no one under 12 didn't know
that when it came out. SNL is a topical show.

I don't know too much about programming but it seems to me that making this as pre-recorded
sequence will take a lot more time and effort than to just write a script to automate it.

Why not just download and unpack the flash?

This is true, but the act of designing something that automatically does something like this
efficiently is impressive in its own right.
