This is a shit clone, maybe someday it wont be. Arrow to move, x to bullet, and c for special.
Only the top 2 planes are different, and only the top left has a special.

You need to stop the enemy planes crashing into the ocean. Skimming along the surface of the
water means 100% of the planes will crash into the opean and die.

we have collisions with boats turned off in these versions because we're implementing
boat/battleship features and it's just more convenient to have them off for that right now. With
boat collision in the game, and the other enemies we plan on adding creating pressure that isn't
just from the planes, it will become less and less of a dominant strategy and more of something
that's beneficial to do every once in a while.

focus is elsewhere right now. that plane is mostly in the game (for me, anyways) because i'm
trying to create systems where multiple planes and their different weapons/properties need to
easily fit into them when we actually finish them, so having another plane that just does
something different at all is useful for making sure it's all working.
e.g "oh, okay, this new feature is working for the basic plane, but when I try to adopt it to
player planes in general does it work?" -> test it with the sniper plane instead.
also i enjoy autistically watching all the boat explosions at once and it's useful to have a
plane that just mows enemies down for when i'm testing shit like how many enemies of a certain
type i can have on screen before we see performance issues.

You lie, the railgun also has a special. It is able to kill enemies fast enough to survive their
absurd spawn rate without having to trick them into crashing.
Also, you don't seem to have much HP which makes taking more than one or two hits basically
guaranteed death.

In this version you can tweak the rate at which enemies spawn using the input on the "Enemy
Trickle" button in the debug menu. The buttons on the right determine what spawns in each waves.
It's a poor excuse for a proper difficulty curve of enemies spawning and the like, but it seemed
useless to meticulously design that only for us to add more enemies later and have to redesign it
again, so this is a stop-gap of sorts. That's why our focus is on enemies for the moment, since
we'd like to get to a point for it to be playable for one plane rather than unplayable for many
planes.
Like in luftrausers, not shooting makes you regenerate HP after a short delay. Forgot to mention
that in the OP.

If you take your plane and fly touching the surface of the water and fly to the right while
shooting, then you will never take damage. You will destroy all boats before you run into them
and all enemy planes will fly into the water killing themselves in an attempt to pursue you.
