I tried using a song identifier, but had no luck finding the song. I need that sauce recipe.

King of the Road OST, track05

The first step is admitting you have a problem...

It's actually an instrumental version of a song "Бeз тeбя", by a Russian rock band "Apия".
Made in soundtrack to a pretty fucking sweet game "Дaльнoбoйщики 2", where it is indeed Track 5.

It was the shit, back in the day. I even had the CD-R disk, which eventually was too scratched to
run.
Helpful Russian, awaaaaay!

Hard Truck 2: King of the road
I doubt you'll enjoy it since you don't have the years of built up nostalgia to handle them 1998
graphics. Or 2001 actually. Seeing how it's something that was made in Russia though, it's normal
to deduct a year or ten.

the real problem is trying to run that piece of shit on any modern machine. It falls right into
that category of 3D win95/98-era PC games which are virtually impossible to emulate properly.
I've tried looking up solutions on /vr/, and while there seems to be some progress being made,
there is still no reliable way to run the games on anything but actual 15 yo hardware.

oh I thought it was one of those games with movie experience where you at some point make a
choice when prompted

Huh. Well my guess would be emulating Windows XP. I don't think I've ever had such problems.
What, is /vr/ fond of that little gem? That's.. flattering.

not that I know of. I was talking about pre-WinME 3D PC games in general.
and I wouldn't call it a "gem". it has pretty cool and unique mechanics for a racing game, and
great soundtrack, but it looked and played like ass

Well you can murder explorer.exe before launching, set maximum RAM to 2gigs in msconfig, or set
it to WinXP SP2 in compatibility mode.
At least in Win7.
Like I said, you'd have to be a gameless 12 year old ruskie boy to really love it the way some
people do.
