First of all, watch the show. It's a fucking good comedy/action on it's own, even without
fan-service.
Second if you had watched the show you'd know, she's actually already dead. But the black haired
dude (Araragi) kind of saved her, so she stuck around and they became friends, but she had to
leave because she stuck around so long. That moment is one of the most sad moments in anime, so
it hits hard when someone just throws it at you like that. Seriously though, good show, lots of
good stuff in it.
