It seems like you don't know the rules of chess. The rules for the king are:
1 can only move in the 8 squares around it, with the exception of castling.
2 can't move into check.
The rules for being in check are
Move the king to a square where it is not threatened.
Capture the threatening piece (possibly with the king).
Block the check by placing a piece between the king and the opponent's threatening piece

I played on shallow and deep and won pretty easily both times. I'm not even good at chess though.

1. the queen kinda looks like a bishop. might confuse you if you're not thinking about it
