I'd guess Laura Bow 2: the Dagger of Amon Ra.
In which investigative journalist Laura Bow, in 1920's New York, a fresh graduate from Tulane
University in New Orleans, is on her first job investigating the burglary at the Lyendecker
Museum. The Dagger of Amon Ra, an ancient artifact from Egypt, was stolen in the burglary.
While attending a party to celebrate the dagger's tour through the US (the dagger was on loan at
the time, intended to travel through several museums before finally returning to Egypt), a series
of murders occur. She ends up locked in with several of the guests, and finds herself getting to
the bottom of the burglary and the murders before she's killed herself for being too nosy.
