Probably ffmpeg, as long as you aren't too dumb to use command line arguments. There's probably
also a GUI wrapper somewhere out there too. Though it would probably only work for flashes which
are just direct movie encodes, don't know what it would do if you tried to put something
interactive into an MP4 container.

I'd imagine it just play every loop it's got once over, kind of how swfchan's player handles
navigation

If it's just a video that actually can be converted then the source probably wasn't flash anyway
and it's really only polite to find the higher quality source before you share it.
If you're talking about something like There She Is! or anything interactive then tell your
friends they're being fucking retarded.

I'm talkin bout the flashes like OP, with video loops and music; I guess I could just make them
myself but IMO the reduced quality adds to the appeal of flashes. I think I'll go with the SOL
strat though

As far as I know mp4 can't copy that effectively. I think it would need to have the full song
length's worth of video even though we know it's the same gif repeating the whole time.
There are probably plenty of ways to do this other than flash, but honestly flash is still pretty
convenient for blowing up gifs far bigger than they were ever meant to be viewed and sticking 9
megabytes worth of audio in the background.

yup, imma just stick by flash then; could always do some janky shit with screen-cap but thats
just too much effort for a slight bit of convenience.
I guess the argument could be made to preserve flash files, but there isnt much culture to it
