Obviously some racist anti-white propaganda and the "terrible things" are jews. Fucking
anti-semites.

I hate this metaphoric line of thinking so goddamn much
There is no group in the world that thinks "oh, ___ happened for no reason, but it couldn't
happen to me!" That's always been fucking ridiculous. The extent of German persecution was kept
under wraps. They did not openly go around shouting "hey, do you guys have any non-Aryan people
with you? we need them for, uh, something."
The real story here should be about propaganda and misleading *within one group*. That is how the
Nazis came to power, not by automatically always being the largest fish in the pond. I've always
had the impression that people who take this story archetype seriously don't know that Hitler was
imprisoned for taking part in a German rebellion long before he had power. He learned explicitly
*not* to do what the Terrible Things do by failing in an attempt.
