I didn't watch the whole video. But reddit is an echo chamber piece of shit. If I want to see all
people having the same opinion about a controversial topic I'd live in north korea..

And that is mostly because of the rating system. Sure, one post might be voted to the top, but
that post is mostly biased. If a post goes against the subreddits culture, people are going to
vote it down.
Let me show with an extreme example:
Let's say you are a poster on a subreddit for feminism, and you found a very interesting piece
that explained how men can gain muscle mass easily compared to women.
Now, this is true, it can put a new perspective on feminism and might help it evolve. But,
because of the rating system, it will be voted down, and the information will never be seen or it
will be regarded as lies and slander. This is what we call an echo chamber.
Echo chambers create perfect conditions for radicalism. Which is why feminism is becoming more
and more radical and some people are calling it regressive.

A real world echo chamber would be a ghetto, which are perfect for ISIS and other radical Muslim
groups, to recruit people.
Reddit, tumblr and other websites that promote echo chambers are dangerous to society.

Exactly, it could be a really good site, even with the usernames, but the false sense of
"progression " the site gives with you being able to collect points and others being able to see
those points and anything else you have ever said keeps people from acting or voicing their
opinion as they would if they were truly anonymous.
"If I say I think women are not suited for a combat role in the armed forces I will get downvoted
and lose points so I won't."

And as I stated, this breeds radicalism, a few years ago, being labelled a sexist for not voting
for a female was a joke, an exaggeration. Then Sarah Palin, people could call her out and people
could call her out for the dumb shit and the lies she made, now Hillery Clinton are doing almost
the same thing, but you can't say shit, unless you want to lose you job.
They are encouraging each other to dox "sexiest shitlord", and have them fired, over a simple
comment. It's fucking scary.

Everyone on reddit shits on most the feminists and their red pill opposites anyway. Most people
go on there to look at videos you're going to see a week later on facebook with emojis plastered
all over them.
Not that your opinion isn't any less valid but please, most subreddits are a circlejerk.
/b/ is a circle jerk.
/pol/ is a circle jerk.
Almost everything is a fucking circle jerk.
So get your head out of your asshole for a second and watch a cat video or something.

There are lots of technical and very specialized subreddits which work basically as link
aggregators to other sites/blogs. You don't even need to read any comments (and susually they
don't have any), you just click on subject and it redirects you to another site. Subreddits
dedicated to videogames, anime, politics or anything which can be discussed are pure cancer and
should never be visited.

I was considering using /pol/ as an example, but at least there, if someone goes out of the norm,
the result are usually very tongue in cheek. At least from my experience.
If a Swede would sat something like "Muslim don't rape, our women force them by the way they
dress." The comments would be obvious, but no one would be fired, no one would be harmed, maybe
the Swedes believes, but that's all.
/a/ and /vg/agdg have frequent discussion, actual healthy discussion, in between all the name
calling, of cause, but there is still discussion.

I've never understood the need for specialized subreddits for videogames, the fanbase are going
to die and the forums are going to be empty one day.
Undertale fans are already moving to the new shiny thing, Stardew Valley. So /r/Undertale are
just going to be wasting place on the server, thankfully there are no images so it doesn't fill
too much.

while I actually love Grey, the animator of this video, and listen to his pod cast "Hello
Internet" I hate his arrogant opinion that Reddit represents a lot of the internet.
I hate having a name on a forum and people playing social politics when all I want to do is shit
post and be entertained.

I got sick of 4chan once and decided to try reddit out for a few months. Now I understand why
4chan hates it, because I hate it too, and everyone on that fucking site.

My ex was a huge redditor. She tried to get me involved in the site. I got on there before I
started visiting this site more frequently. It was enjoyable at first. I then began to notice how
one sided and close minded they were to any opinions that weren't the ones they already had. You
think Christians are close minded? Try saying you can be religious and like science at the same
time on reddit. It's just another website like Tumblr. I call them "safety bubble sites" because
everyone goes there and has the same opinion. Those who don't have the same opinion just get
slandered, bashed, attacked, and "downvoted" into oblivion.

This desu senpai
As long as you treat the site as a link aggregator and never read the comments (which you
shouldn't be reading on the majority of websites anyway) you will be just fine
