It's only been announced. All we really know is that it's apparently some kind of portable
handheld/home console crossbreed, and supposedly totally different from the Wii U and 3DS. People
are very excited despite how few details there are about it.

I've only paid handheld and PC games (that could likely run on handheld) for the past decade.
The obsession over graphics and realism has killed console gaming to me.

Fair point. First-party Nintendo games are great, but there aren't enough of them for me to
justify purchasing a modern system for them.

I think that's probably one reason the Wii U didn't do great. Plenty of great titles but not a
whole not considering the price tag. It'll be a lot more worthwhile when prices go down.
We can probably safely assume Breath of the Wild will launch alongside the NX, which is in itself
a testament to how impressive this thing could be, and there'll most likely be a few other games
yet to be announced.

If the rumours are true about a handheld/console hybrid, I've wanted something similar to the NX
for years now. A lounging console, handheld in design but console in utility, just lie in bed or
on the sofa with it while power runs from a separate console hooked up to a power supply. I
thought the Wii U would be that but the lack of range, needing a TV for a lot of things, and all
the accessories made it a bit of a pain.
