If you resize the flash, it's underneath the staged area

This is very correct. I wish there was a reliable way to view the source of a flash. Wouldn't
that be great, anon?

Hell, in for a penny, in for a pound.
The staged area is basically what the maker of the flash allows you to see. Since screens are
typically widescreen, you see more on the sides, typically. If you stretch the flash to be taller
than it is wide, you'll usually see source information underneath. It's a way of including
sources for flashes without being obtrusive to the content.
