Interesting note:
In the actual biblical script, Judas was fated to betray Jesus, and was actually forgiven on the
cross for his sin. His actions were necessary in order to allow Jesus to become a martyr and thus
led directly towards the salvation of all mankind, and so in that sense Judas was as much a part
of the second covenant as Peter or Paul.
What led to his eternal damnation wasn't the fact that he betrayed Jesus, but rather his guilt
and suicide later. Despite his forgiveness, Judas couldn't live with the guilt of essentially
murdering the man that he had now come to realize was actually the messiah, and so hanged
himself. In doing so, he turned away from Jesus' forgiveness and was condemned to literally the
only direct punishment meted out by the divine since the fall of Satan.
TL;DR: Judas did nothing wrong.
