Not strange.
Some pizza places simply aren't professional and/or aren't good at making pizza.
A good slice of pizza should not drip oil (or anything) when held vertically and even when
blotted only a tiny amount of oil should come up.
The oil in a well cooked slice should be negligible and part of the sauce. Barely detectable. The
cheese, sauce and bread are the dominant ingredients. The oil is just lube for the gears during
the cooking process.
