Sometimes when I'm stressed and trying to sleep I close my eyes and think to myself:
There's nothing more I will do tonight other than sleep. Everything I have to do will wait till
tomorrow, so I can get comfy all I want and relax for all of tonight.
Or something like that. Hopefully that helps you as it sometimes helps me.

anxiety, caffeine and stress, most likely.
avoid over-stimulation(videogames, action movies, ect) in the hew hours before bed, caffeine, and
mind altering drugs which further disrupt your natural sleep cycle.
get more exercise(tiring) and sunlight which effects you more than you think.
eat better and avoid excess sugar.
avoid being in bed unless it's to sleep if possible so as to make your mind associate it with
sleeping and lastly try meditation if all else fails.
oh, and try sticking to a schedule if possible.
